MR. AND MRS. W. E. PALMER


Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Palmer and family homesteaded in the Pleasant Ridge community southwest of here in 1884. Mr. Palmer was a Baptist minister in Frontier county for many years, and for a time preached at the local Baptist church. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer moved to Farnam and retired from active work, where they lived at the time of Mr. Palmer's death. Mr. Palmer and his five year old grandson, Cecil Rickard were drowned in a creek southwest of Farnam, March 18, 1919.
Mr. and Mrs. Palmer enjoyed 66 years of married life.
Mrs. Palmer, who is now past 84 years of age, enjoys good health for one of her age. She has 29 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. At present her son, Bennie is making his home with her in Farnam.
Other members of the family living are: Mrs. Conrod Lintz, North Platte; Mrs. Joseph Reckard, Sutton; Raleigh, Ogallala; W. H., Farnam and Mrs. Harry Roberts, Littleton, Colo. Deceased members of the family are: Mrs. (Emma) Callihan, Walter and Albert.
