Ben Downard moved on a homestead about 9 miles southeast of Farnam in 1885. He owned and operated a threshing machine in an early day. He was known to all the early settlers in and around Farnam. His wife passed on a year or two ago. At present he is living with his oldest boy at Aimesville, Mo. 1886 1936
