MR. AND MRS. A. GEWECKE
CELEBRATED 50th WEDDING
ANNIVERSARY IN 1932


A. Gewecke was born in Germany Dec. 31, 1853 and came to the United States in the year of 1856 and settled with his parents in Will County, Illinois. Mr. Gewecke was confirmed in the Lutheran Church early in life.
Mrs. A. Gewecke was born in Germany June 29, 1860 and came to the United States with her parents in 1868, locating in Chicago, Illinois, later moving with her parents to Crown Point, Indiana. Mrs. Gewecke was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at the age of 13.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Gewecke were married March 7, 1882, at Crown Point, Indiana, two days later they came to Fillmore county, living on a farm near Ohiowa, Nebraska.
In 1892 Mr. and Mrs. Gewecke moved from Ohiowa, Nebraska to four miles south of Moorefield, Nebraska, living at that place about 10 years then moving to their farm 8 miles southwest of Farnam.
In the spring of 1919 they retired from active farm work and moved to Farnam, where they now reside.
To this union eight children are living: Mrs. B. F. Teel, Oscar Gewecke, Mrs. C. A. Reynolds, Mrs. Ella Kister, Mrs. Morris Wyckoff, Mrs. Glenn Dawson, Henry Gewecke and Anne Gewecke.
Mr. and Mrs. Gewecke celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary March 7th, 1932 at a family reunion dinner; in the afternoon open house was held for their friends, and all were served with refreshments before departing.
Mr. and Mrs. Gewecke have enjoyed extensive southern tours, spending vacations in Florida and Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Gewecke are enjoying good health at present.
