Douglas Wayne Green, 64, passed away on September 5, 2026 at at Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE.

Doug was born on January 21, 1962 in San Jose, CA to Denzel L. and Dorothy May (Foster) Green He attended High School in Santa Clara, CA. Following high school he moved to Kansas. Doug met Jennifer in McCook where they were married in 1992. The couple had two sons Tyler in 1995 in McCook and following a move to Farnam, Travis in 1998. Doug worked as a grain operator for the CO-OP in Farnam for many years. He lived in Farnam until moving to Gothenburg in 2022.

Doug enjoyed fishing and decorating for the holidays. He loved the 49ers and spending time with family. Doug enjoyed being Santa and collecting ships and pirate stuff. In recent years he made more crafts including holiday decorations and making his own dream catchers and leather satchels.

Doug is survived by two sons Tyler Green and wife Hannah of Gothenburg and son Travis Green of Gothenburg; sisters Gaylene and husband Mark Smith of Moorfield and Dottie and husband Chris Christensen of McCook; brother Gil Green and wife Millie of Colorado Springs CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Denzel and Dorothy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family to help with funeral expenses.
