Andrew Jefferson Messersmith, 68, died Tuesday Dec. 6 in his home at 606 East 10th St.

He was employed at the Terminal Cafe and took ill while at work. Mr. Messersmith was a retired barber and in business in this city for many years.

He was born February 6, 1887 in Frontier Co. and came to North Platte from Holdrege in 1928.

He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Grace, a son, Kenneth, a daughter, Mrs. Leita Smith; two brothers, George of Mountain Grove, Mo., Lonnie of Stockville; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Kelly of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Mrs. Lucy Adkisson of Farnam; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the First Methodist Church, with Rev. E. E. Jackman officiating.

Adams and Swanson Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
