Robert Wayne (Bob) Friesenborg passed away in Kearney, NE January 6, 2026 at the age of 78.
Bob was born at Farnam, NE on March 3, 1947 to Alfred and Geneva (Gaibler) Freisenborg. They lived on a farm South and East of Farnam.
During the blizzard of 1948 and 1949 the family moved to Gothenburg. Dealing with bitter cold, high winds, and deep snow and mom being pregnant with (Don) born May 4, 1949.
Bob attended school in Gothenburg spending most of his time with his brother Don, Monty and Gary Bowman, Clifford and Daryl McCaslin and going to his grandmother’s house.
Bob graduated in 1966 and started working at Monroe Auto in Cozad. Bob loved his Ford cars, saving his money he owned several of them. He bought the last new car sold by Bruce Kline, when Bruce sold Gothenburg Ford Dealership.
Bob enjoyed country western music and going to the Burwell Rodeo.
Bob was a very good pool player, Snooker was his game. At one time he was considered the BEST bowler in Gothenburg. He helped Barney Bornschlegel operate the Gothenburg Bowling Alley.
In 1976 Bob married Judy Markason from Brady. They made their home in Gothenburg. Bob worked many years at Monroe Auto a very dependable and hard working employee. After many years of breathing toxic air finally his health was ruined and he was dismissed from Monroe.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Judy.
Bob is survived by his brother Don (Sharon); Aunt Ruth Sturgeon, Cousins- Gwen (Rick) Kotchwar, Allen (Claudia) Gaibler, Doug (Tami) Sturgeon, Joyce (Dave) Hartman.
Family would like to thank the Caregivers at Emerald Nursing in Cozad, the doctors and caregivers at Good Sam in Kearney for all the care he received.
Cremation was chosen. Family Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery at a later date.
