HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Dr. William M. Fitch, 69, formerly of Farnam and Gothenburg, died March 9, 1991, at his home.

He was born Aug. 25, 1921, at Farnam to William and Charlotte Ainlay Fitch and was a graduate of Gothenburg High School. He served in the military from 1943 until 1958.

Dr. Fitch was chief of staff at Bellwood (Calif.) General Hospital, was on the board of directors of Los Alamitos Hospital and was medical director of Seal Beach Leisure World Retirement Community. He was a member of the Los Alamitos Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Donna McGath Fitch; two sons, Alan of Petaluma, Calif., and James of Citrus Heights, Calif.; three brothers, Robert of Riverside, Calif., Ronald of Clairmont, Calif., and Eugene of Denver, Colo.; and three grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were four sisters, Doris Smith, Lucille Hyde, Genevieve Shelton and Glenrose McCormick.

Graveside services were March 14 at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont, Neb., with Moser Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
