Mildred D. Brittenham

Mildred D. Brittenham, 86, of Maxwell, died Saturday at the North Platte hospital. She was born Sept. 26, 1899, at Wallace to Clyde and Edith Howe Heath.

She attended grade school in Wallace and went to high school in Curtis.

She taught at the Jeffrey Queen District 94 for one year.

She was married to Jake Brittenham July 15, 1925. They made their home north of Moorefield. In 1973, they retired and moved to Maxwell.

Survivors include her husband, Jake of Maxwell; three sons, Floyd of Maxwell, Wayne of Lexington and Eldon of Moorefield; a daughter, Edith (Mrs. Ralph) Johnston of Maxwell; two sisters, Nellie Larson of Grand Island and Bessie Hiner of Dodge City, Kan.; a brother, Carl Heath of North Platte; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, two brothers, and a sister.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Adams and Swanson Chapel with the Rev. G. VanBoening of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at the Plainview Cemetery at Maxwell.

A memorial has been established.

Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
