Herbert Williams
Herbert Lyle Williams, son of Frederick and Phronia Williams, was born in Ringwood, Oklahoma, on May 25, 1908, and passed away at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Nov. 20th, 1953, at the age of 45 years, 5 months and 26 days.
In his early childhood he moved to Gothenburg, Nebr., with his parents. He and his family moved to Farnam in 1915, where he made his home unitl 1929.
On Nov. 18, 1929, he was united in marriage to Ethel Colkitt.
He farmed in the community of Cozad until Feb. 1, 1946, when he moved his family to Albuquerque, N. Mex., for his health.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Gordon of Cozad, Duane and Frederick of Albuquerque, N. M.; five daughters: Mrs. Marlena McElwain, Elaine, Janet, Linda and Charlott, all of Albuquerque; three sisters: Mary Kitchen of Compton, California, Myrtle Stinnette, of Corvallis, Oregon, Faye Bean of San Lorenzo, Calif.; three brothers: Cecil Williams of Los Angeles, Calif., Hollie Williams of Potter, and Rolland Williams of Brady.
Funeral services were held at the McVay Funeral Home, on Tuesday, Nov. 24th, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. D. J. Sampson, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Mrs. Frank Schwanz furnished the music, accompanied by Mrs. Hiddie Kuhlman, pianist. Ray Gadway, Paul Kinnan, Edward France, Willard Hart, Kenneth France and Harry Soller served as pallbearers. Interment in Gothenburg cemetery.
