Dorothy Duffy 82, of Altamont passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at theosaic Life Care Center in St. Joseph. Inurnment will be at the Mt Ayr Cemetery near Altamont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Altamont United Methodist Church.

Dorothy was born at Farnam NE, September 21, 1933 to Clarence Allen Dixon and Margarette Faye (Martin) Dixon. She was married to Ronald Everett Duffy in Maryville, MO on March 22, 1951 and shared 47 years together before his passing February 10, 1998.

Dorothy raised six children while working at the Lambert Cap Factory in Gallatin and the Stride Rite Shoe Company in Hamilton, retiring from Stride Rite in June of 1997. A very proud event in her life was to receive her certificate of High School Equivalence in July of 1971.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, daughter Elizabeth Ann Duffy in 2013, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Rhonda (Walter) Edwards of Berea Ohio, Roberta “Bertie” (Chris) Stith of Gallatin, Helen (Bruce) Stephens of Columbia, Anna (Jack) Tate of Olathe, KS, Donald (Jacki) Duffy of Kearney, brother, Donavan (Evelyn) Dixon of CA, adopted niece, Faye Garner of Lincoln, NE, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
