Shellie George Schneider

Shellie George Schneider was born on June 10, 1886 at Hay Springs, Nebraska and passed away at Cambridge, Nebr., November 28, 1929 at the age of 43 years, 5 months and eighteen days. His boyhood was spent in and around Omaha. In 1903 he moved with his father to a farm southwest of Brady where he lived until 1918. He then moved north of Arapahoe where he lived until three years ago. He bought a place north of Bartley where he was residing at the time of his death. In 1908 he was united in marriage to Edna Grove, who preceded him in death in 1915. To this union three sons were born, Ernest, Elmer and Albert. He became united in marriage in 1916 to Hannah Nelsen. To this union three sons and one daughter were born, Lawrence, Laverne, Lyona and Lloyd, all of whom are at home. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, six sons and one daughter of Bartley, Nebr., a sister, Mrs. Hattie Applegate of Milwaukie, Oregon; a brother, Arthur Schneider of Maxwell, and a sister, Mrs. Edna Jergenson of Maxwell; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Baumbart of Sterling, Nebr., besides many other relatives and friends.

In his early life he became a member of the Lutheran church of which he remained. His last song and words were “Lord, I Am Coming Home” which was sung at his funeral by the choir by special request.
