Paul Warren Uhlig
Paul Warren Uhlig was born at Eustis, Nebraska on April 30, 1887 and passed away from this life on April 7, 1957, at his farm home north of Gothenburg. He was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Blanche Davies of Eustis, with a ceremony at Stockville, the county seat. In 1926 he moved from the Eustis community to a place near Cozad. In 1933 he moved to his farm eighteen miles northeast of Gothenburg. He was an honest, hard working man, who spent much time and effort with his livestock. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, three sisters and one grandson. The survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Ivar (Irene) Cole of Gothenburg, sons, Leonard of Callaway and Arnold of Mason City, brothers Ernest of Sutherland, Guy of Cozad and Harmon of Loup City, sister, Mrs. Emil (Edna) Volkman of Overton and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon April 11, 1957 from the Olesen FUneral Home to the Methodist Church at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Lawrence W. Bratt officiating. Mrs. Everett Oman sang “Have Thine Own Way Lord” and “Beyond the Sunset.” Mrs. Harry Ostergard accompanied her at the organ. Pallbearers were Everett Kruse, Ben Stellman, Siebelt Miller, Ralph Anderson, Byron Maline and Pete Jobman. Burial was in the Gothenburg cemetery.
