Yolande Joy Davis

Yolande Joy Miller Davis passed away on Monday July 8, 2024 after a lengthy illness.

Yolande was born on April 26, 1938 to Angeloah William Miller and Hazel Huston Miller in Farnam, Nebraska. After Yolande graduated from Eustis High School in 1956, she went on to study nursing at Nebraska Methodist Hospital Nursing Program. After graduating with a diploma in nursing she began her career with 2 years in the United States Navy in a U.S. Naval hospital in San Diego, California. This is where she met and married Samuel Davis, a young marine, and they went on to have 3 children as they moved to various military posts all over the country. Patrick Alan Davis was born in Oceanside, California, Cynthia Lynn Davis (Meeks) was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and Rebecca Anne Davis (Fuller) was born in Decatur, Georgia. After more than 35 years as a nurse, she retired in 2001.

Yolande was predeceased by her parents, Angeloah and Hazel Miller, siblings Claude Miller, Jean Miller Church, Zoe Miller Derra, Rachel Miller Eineman, and Quentin Miller, her son Patrick Alan Davis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She is survived by her daughters Cindy Meeks (Lee), Becky Fuller (Dane); Grandchildren Christopher Meeks (Olivia), Kayla Otis (Pat), Kelly Meeks, Nicholas Meeks, Megan Dacosta (Patrick), Abigail Hipp, Ashlynn Hipp, Alexis Hipp; 5 great grandchildren Matthew Otis, Andrea Otis, Noah Otis, Jonathan Meeks, and Anastasia Dacosta as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

The family will receive friends at Forest Hills At Mountain View Baptist Church at 10:00am, Saturday July 13, 2024. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The funeral service to celebrate Yolande’s life will follow at 11:00 am. Following the service, Yolande will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Cemetery.
