Death Takes Mrs. Glenn Hyde, 63
Lucille Hyde passed away in Denver, Colorado, on Wednesday, September 27. She was 63. Services were Saturday morning. Interment was in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Jennie Lucille Fitch was born at Farnam on May 13, 1915, to William R. and Charlotte Fitch. She attended school in Farnam and Gothenburg, graduating from Gothenburg High School. Lucille taught school for several years before her marriage to Glenn Hyde on July 24, 1938.
They moved to their present home south of town in 1942 and resided there continuously since that time. Lucille and Glenn farmed and operated Gothenburg Nurseries together. Lucille also maintained a floral business in conjunction with the nursery. She enjoyed people and was gifted with that personal touch for each one with whom she came in contact.
She was active in the Banner United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, Order of Eastern Star, County Line Extension Club, Open Door Club and other community activities.
She had gone to Denver, Colorado, for treatment following a short illness and passed away there.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn; one son, Thomas of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Janet, Mrs. John Wightman; three grandchildren; two sisters, Glenrose McCormick of Loveland, Colo., and Doris Smith of Gothenburg and four brothers, Ronald Fitch of Clairmont, Calif., Eugene Fitch of Arvada, Colo., Dr. William Fitch of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Robert Fitch of Riverside, Calif.
Services were at Banner United Methodist Church with Rev. Hugh H. Houchin officiating. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Geiken, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Trimble, and Mrs. Gene Hecox.
Casket bearers were Darwin Edson, Gene Hecox, Dee Atkinson, Burton Ristine, Richard Hecox and Burton McPheeters.
