Fred Goodrich Rites Held
Fred W. Goodrich, 81, died last Wednesday evening in a Grand Island hospital where he had been since being injured in a traffic accident March 24.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Geddes Funeral Home by Rev. Charles E. Mosher. Burial was in Cameron Cemetery.
Mr. Goodrich was born Nov. 23, 1873, in Missouri to Calvin and Lorinda Goodrich. He came to Nebraska with his parents when he was three months old. THey located on a farm near Cairo and he and Edith Paul were married at Cairo Aug. 20, 1903.
They established their home on a farm, later moving into Cairo. In 1934 they moved to Grand Island. Mr. and Mrs. Goodrich observed their golden wedding anniversary Aug. 20, 1953.
Mr. Goodrich was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Island. He was also affiliated with the Royal Neighbors.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Lysle E. Goodrich, Overland Park, Kans., and Paul E. Goodrich, Des Plaines, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Barclay, Littleton, Colo.; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Lewis, an infant son, his parents, two brothers and a sister.
