Leonard Anderson
A funeral for former Scottsbluff resident Leonard T. Anderson, 78, of Brady, Neb., who died Nov. 2 in a Gothenburg nursing home, was held Monday in the Unite Methodist Church at Brady with the Rev. Dale Coates officiating. Burial will be in Gaslin cemetery south of Brady.
A memorial has been established to the Brady United Methodist Church.
He was born Nov. 2, 1910, at Cozad to George and Anna (Murray) Anderson. He married Opal Craig July 14, 1928, at North Platte. They moved to Scottsbluff-Gering area in 1952, where he worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a roadmaster until retiring in 1972 when he moved to Jeffrey Lake.
He was a member of the U.P. Oldtimers, Masonic Lodge #201 in Scottsbluff, Gering Chapter #65-York Rites, and the Gering Eagles Lodge #2998.
Survivors include his wife; son Merrill of Omaha; daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Peterson of Akron, Colo., and Mrs. Carole Mathews of Chandler, Ariz.; brothers Lloyd of Arcadia, Calif., Clifford of Nampa, Idaho, and Donald of Ventura, Calif.; stepbrother Robert Marrs of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters, Thelma Lee of Arvada, Colo., and Mrs. Betty Goodrum of Valley Center, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four stepbrothers.
