Opal M. Anderson
BRADY — Opal M. Anderson, 81, Brady native, died May 2, 1992, at her home in Brady.
Born July 11, 1910, at Brady to James and Eleanor Austin Craig, she graduated from Brady High School in 1928. She married Leonard T. Anderson on July 14, 1928, at North Platte. He died Nov. 2, 1989.
Mrs. Anderson operated Anderson Drapery in the Gering and Scottsbluff area from 1952 until 1972, at which time she and her husband moved to Jeffery Lake. They moved into Brady in 1984.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Brady Lioness Club and the Order of Eastern Star in Gering.
Survivors include a son, Merrill and wife Violet of Omaha; two daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Clifford) Peterson of Akron, Colo., and Carole (Mrs. Neal) Mathews of Chandler, Ariz.; three brothers, Kenneth Craig of Stockton, Calif., Ira Craig of Roy, Utah, and Ronald Craig of Sunset, Utah; a sister, Lela Larson of Holdrege; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a sister, Lila, and a brother, Austin.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen Stodden officiating. Burial will be in the Gaslin Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
McVay Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
