Obituary.
James Henry Nall, oldest son of John and Elizabeth Nall, was born March 20, 1835, at Carlinville, Illinois, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska February 26, 1920.
During the civil war he volunteered his services to his country, serving for over three years, from May, 1861, to June, 1864, as a member of Co. I, of the 14th Illinois Infantry, from which he received an honorable discharge.
He was united in marriage November 14, 1867, to Sarah J. Southard at Rolla, Missouri. His wife died December 9th, 1904. From a family of eight children, to which deceased belonged, only one survives, John Tyler Nall of Moorefield, Nebr.
The deceased leaves four children, William Troy Nall of Grant, Nebr.; James Crews Nall of Holyoke, Colo.; Ethel L. Nall and Mrs. Lulu Brown of Stockville, Nebr., and four grandchildren, Dixon, Elizabeth, Richard and Rex Brownd, of Stockville. All of the children and grandchildren were at the funeral except Richard Brown, who is attending school at Lexington, Missouri.
The funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lulu Brown, last Thursday, conducted by Rev. Chas. Neve, and was attended by a large number of his old friends. Mr. Nall came to Stockville when there were but few houses and has made his home here for nearly forty years. The casket was covered with beautiful flowers contributed by friends. The remains were laid to rest by the side of his wife in the Stockville cemetery. The family have the sincere sympathy of this community in their sorrow.
