Joe Miller of Curtis Dies With Heart Attack
Joe Miller, of near Curtis, died Sunday morning from a sudden heart attack, while he was doing his chores about the farm. He seemed to be taking longer to do his chores than usual, and Mrs. Miller went out to look for him and found him lying on the ground. She phone for assistance and a doctor, but he had died before the doctor arrived.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller lived for many years in the Fairview community, southwest of Farnam, and had many friends in this community. They moved to the place near Curtis three years ago.
Besides his wife, Mr. Miller is survived by five sons: Ivan, Red Cloud, Nebr.; Lloyd, Freedom; Newton, Walden, Colo.; Jay, McCook, and Marion, Curtis; and two daughters: Mrs. Derwood Schrotberger, Kankakee, Ill., and Mrs. Syrus Coykendahl, Curtis.

Obituary of Joe Miller
Joe Miller was born at Chatsworth, La Salle county, Illinois, July 13, 1873 and passed away at the home near Curtis, Nebr., Nov. 28, 1937 at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 15 days.
He moved with his parents to Trenton, Nebr., in Feb. 1887 where he grew to young manhood.
He was united in marriage to Lorena B. Cooperrider on Christmas day, 1898. To this union was born five sons and two daughters. Ivan of Red Cloud, Nebr., Lloyd of Freedom, Nebr.; Newton of Walden, Colo., Jay of McCook, Nebr., Marion of Curtis, Nebr., Mrs. Mae Schroteberger of Kankakee, Illinois and Mrs. Grace Coykendall of Curtis, Nebr.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, seven children, ten grandchildren, three brothers, Frank and Lew of Trenton, Nebr. and Walter of Boulder, Colo. Many other relatives and a host of friends.
At an early age he joined the United Brethren Church which belief he steadfastly maintained until his passing.
Funeral services were held from the Congregational church of Curtis at 1 o’clock Wednesday afternoon of last week. Burial at Trenton.
