Mrs. C. F. Peckham Dead.

Mary E. Peckham passed away last Sunday at her home on the south side, following an illness of several weeks, aged 49 years, five months and twelve days.

The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Banner M. E. church, conducted by Rev. C. C. Wilson, and the remains laid to rest in the Peckham cemetery.

Mary E. Russell was born July 17, 1863, in Grant county, Wisc., where she grew to young womanhood. She was married to Charles F. Peckham at Sugar Grove, Wisc., on March 10, 1886, and came to Gothenburg and with her husband has been a resident of the south side since that time. Seven children born to them, five of whom died in early life.

Mrs. Peckham became a Christian in her youth and united with the Christian church in Sugar Grove. She has been a devoted wife and mother and a kind neighbor.

Those bereft are her husband, one son, Hubert, and one daughter, Alta, an aged father, C. W. Russell of Henry, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. Rosa Jackson, on Henry, Nebr., and five brothers, H. E. Russell of Chelan, Wash., Ralph J. Russell, of Mitchell, Neb., Lawrence S. Russell, of Cour de A’lene, Idaho, Clarence N. Russell of Torrington, Wyo., Herbert G. Russell, of Imperial, Neb.

Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Rosa Jackson of Henry, Neb., H. G. Russell, of Imperial, John Conover, wife and daughter of Sutherland.
