Obituary Collection
Mrs. John Stark

Christie H. Harrop was born on June 3rd, 1872, at Paintertown, Penn., and passed from this life at the M. E. Hospital in Omaha on January 27, 1932.

With her parents she came to Nebraska in the early eighties and settled on a homestead south of Eustis where she grew to womanhood. On June 6th, 1892, she was united in marriage to John Stark, and five children were born to this union, one daughter, Edna, dying in infancy.

Mr. and Mrs. Stark took up a homestead south of Farnam and they lived in or near Eustis and Farnam until 1924, when they moved to Lexington, where they have since resided.

She is surived by her husband, four children, Miss Goldie Stark of Lexington; Merl F. Stark of Johnstown; Harold J. Stark of Lexington; and Ivan R. Stark of Central City; one grand-daughter, Gwendolyn Jeanne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan R. Stark.

Mrs. Stark also has four brothers living, James Harrop of Salt Lake City, Utah; Eli Harrop of Garfield, N. J.; George Harrop of Passiac, N. J.; and Clarance Harrop of Grand Island.

She has been a member of the church since girlhood and has always been a faithful and consistent Christian. Until her health broke nearly nine years ago, she was an active worker in the church, and since that time, she has often gone beyond her strength to keep up her devotion to the need of others. She has been a mother to every one to whom she might bestow a mother’s love, and when the end came she was unafraid.

Funeral services were conducted in the M. E. church at Lexington by the pastor, Rev. A. V. Hunter, on Saturday, Jan. 30th, at 1:30 p.m. Interment was made in the cemetery at Eustis.
