Obituary
Robert Daniel Schultz was born August 21, 1927, near Elwood, Nebr. He departed this life near Brady on July 15, 1949, at the age of 21 years, 10 months and 24 days.
He spent his entire life near Farnam with the exception of the last two years, which he spent near Wellfleet.
He was baptized in infancy in the Lutheran church at Eustis.
Robert was united in marriage to Winnie Gaedke on July 16, 1948. To this union twin daughters, Helen Lue and Ellen Sue were born.
He leaves to mourn his sudden departure his wife and twin daughters; his mother, Mrs. Goldie Schultz of Gothenburg; four sisters; Mrs. Clarence Ecker of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Leonard Beery of Gothenburg, Mrs. Loren Beery of Lexington, and Betty Schultz of Gothenburg; five brothers, Charles and Alvin of Los Angeles, Harold, William and Roger of Gothenburg, and many other relatives and a host of friends.
His father, Charles Schultz, and his sister, Mrs. Helen Lindstedt, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, July 19, at the Olesen Funeral home. Rev. Walter Seefeldt, pastor of the Wellfleet Lutheran church, officiated. Interment was in the Gothenburg cemetery.

Robert Schultz, Young Brady Farmer, Drowning Victim
Robert Schultz, 21-year-old Brady farmer, drowned Friday evening while swimming in the Platte river near the north end of the Brady bridge.
Frank Osterland was with him and became so thoroughly exhausted in his rescue attempt that it was necessary for Duane Mercer, aged 12, to pull him to safety. The body was recovered three hours later by Ray Williams of Brady, with the help of a grappling hook.
