Mrs. Lester Dalton
Mrs. Lester Dalton (Florence M.) Dalton, 72, a resident of Plattsmouth nearly 20 years, died Saturday Oct. 1, at the home of her daughter where she was visiting during her husband’s hospitalization.
Mrs. Dalton had been ailing about four months.
She was born April 18, 1894, at Farnam, daughter of Philip and Elizabeth Koepke Balser.
She was married Oct. 11, 1924, to Lester B. Dalton.
Mr. and Mrs. Dalton lived here since 1947, coming here from Edgar. Mr. Dalton operated Plattsmouth Lumber Co. until retiring recently and Mrs. Dalton served as bookkeeper for a number of years.
She was a member of First Methodist Church, Eastern Star Lodge at Edgar and was a Past District President of Women’s Club and other organizations here.
Services were Oct. 5 at Caldwell Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Willard Scott officiating. Soloist was David Cecil and organist, Mrs. Twyla Hodge.
Pallbearers were Arthur Balser, David Cecil, Phillip Cecil, Warren Dalton, Winston Holmes adn Verris Hubbell. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth.
She is survived by her husband, son Robert L. of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.; daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Claire) Schwentser, 3060 Grand Ave., Omaha; a brother, A. H. Balser of Colorado Springs, Colo., and a sister, Mrs. H. I. Cecil of Ashland, Ore.
