Obituary Collection
“At Rest in Jesus”

Died, Friday Sept. 12th, 1902, at his home in this town, Marion Andrew, youngest child and only son of Quincy and Clara Pollard, departed this life after two weeks of suffering.

Although all was done that the fond affection of a father who idolized him, a mother's yearning bleeding heart, the loving care of tender and thoughtful relatives and friends, yet, God in his wisdom, thought to take the darling to himself.

Only a few days ago, a ringing step, a brilliant eye lit with an affectionate love, a smile all beauty, a little heart full of love. Today, a vacant chair, a silent house, a beckoning hand. Kneeling by the grave of your precious treasure it is vain to be told, “It is dust, it is the clay of the little one you loved dearer than life.” If joy and light went with him, hope and rememberance are with us. I think he wept when he wakened in the heavenly home for grief fo you. It must be there are tears there, else why tell us, “God shall wipe all tears from their eyes?” He has taken his first lesson in God’s afterwards. We in our blindness cannot comprehend these things—Marion so young—four years—just a little bud.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Sunday at 11 o’clock, where a large concourse of friends met to pay the last tribute of respect.

Try to think of your beautiful bud transplanted to bloom in paradise. “What shall thine afterwards be, Oh, Lord? I wait in wonder to see.”
