Obituary Collection
John Hilton Walker

John H. Walker, 54, a resident of Scottsbluff since 1914, died suddenly of a heart attack September 21, while working in the H. J. Lenhart potato cellar being constructed on South Broadway.

A physician was called as soon as Mr. Walker collapsed but he had died before the physician arrived.

For the past six months Mr. and Mrs. Walker had made their home with a daughter, Mrs. Muriel Warner in Denver. They returned here only a few days ago and Mr. Walker had taken employment as a carpenter for construction of the potato cellar. They planned to leave soon for California, where they had lived for six years after first coming to Scottsbluff.

Mr. Walker was born Feb. 5, 1883 in Yorktown, Pa. He was married to Mary Hodgkin July 3, 1901, in Stockville, Nebr.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mary Walker; the daughter, Mrs. Warner; a grandson, Jon Lee Warner; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Jagelski of Los Angeles; and two brothers, Dick Walker, Los Angeles and Percy Walker, Holbrook, Oregon.

Mr. Walker was among the earliest settlers in the Farnam vicinity, and lived here until 1908.
