Will of Elmer Todd is Upheld

Basin, Wyo., Feb. 12—(AP)—Judge C. D. Murane today upheld the will of Elmer Todd, eccentric bachelor who died here in November, 1934, leaving his entire estate to two young girls who befriended him during his lifetime.

The will which left his estate to Dorothy and Marguerite Deal, aged 15 and 13, was contested by Mrs. Mary Weaver, Todd’s sister, of Louisville, Colo.

The Deal girls, formerly residents of Basin, lived near Todd for several years before their mother died. He became greatly attached to them and after his death at the age of 72 it was found his entire estate had gone to the youngsters who had been taken to Portland, Ore., to live with their grandmother, Mrs. H. F. Compton.

The estate consisted of $925 in cash hoarded in a tin can for 20 years, stocks, bonds and other valuables aggregating several thousand dollars, and several thousand dollars worth of town property.
