Granville Mayfield, 85, an early day resident of the community south of Farnam and an uncle to Mrs. Tom J. Caster, died at New Ramer, Colorado, December 21. Funeral services and burial were held there the following Tuesday.

Born at Osage, Iowa, in 1865, he later resided in Thayer and Frontier counties in Nebraska, going to New Ramer in 1909 where he secured a homestead and farmed for several years. He is survived by two daughters.
