Albert Hill Rites Held at Moorefield
Former Frontier County Man Dies at Fort Scott, Kans.
Funeral rites were held January 11 at the Moorefield Union church conducted by Rev. J. C. Nyrop, Curtis, for Albert Hill, former Moorefield resident. Interment was in Moorefield cemetery.
Albert Edwin Hill was born August 27, 1849 at Osceola, Tioga county, Penn., and passed away at his home in Fort Scott, Kansas January 9, 1940 at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 13 days. On July 2d, 1874, he was united in marriage to Lizzie A. Hungate of Blair, Nebraska. To this union 11 children were born, all of whom are living: Austin Hill, Anna Lawrence, Albert Hill and Thomas Hill of Moorefield; Etta Rishel of Elm Creek; Ada Maxey of Riverton, Ia.; Myrtle Field of St. Petersburg, Florida; Stella Flower, Frances and Gertrude Hill of Fort Scott, Kansas; Arta Hammon of Gibbon, Nebraska; and five grandchildren.
When a small boy he moved with his parents to Montpelier, O., at the age of 19 he came to Nebraska, living in Herman until the year 1882 when he moved to Frontier county near Cambridge. In the year 1889 he moved to Lincoln county near Moorefield where he lived until 1910 then moved to Fort Scott, Kansas where he lived at the time of his death. He has two sisters living: Mrs. Sarah Hodson and Etta Hill of Montpelier, Ohio. His wife, father, mother, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
