MRS. H.W. CASWELL ANSWERS FINAL CALL
Mrs. H.W. Casswell passed away late Sunday evening at her home here following an illness of nearly three years.
Eliza A. Banning was born in Story county, Iowa on June 3, 1866. She moved with her parents to Phelps county, Nebraska in 1878, where as early pioneers they homesteaded near Loomis, Nebraska.
She was married August 23, 1886 to Horace W. Caswell, who at that time lived in Bloomington, Nebraska. To this union five children were born, one daughter and one son of the number dying in infancy.
Soon after their marriage they moved to Loomis, Nebraska where they resided until 1907 when they moved to Elwood, Nebraska. Then in 1919, they moved to Farnam, where they have lived since.
Mrs. Caswell was known as a kind and affectionate mother and wife.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, H. W. Caswell, three sons and their wives; George H., who resides at Gothenburg; Chas. O. of Lingle, Wyo.; Lewis W., of Bridgeport, Nebr.; also one daughter by adoption, Mrs. Arvid Erickson of Potter, Nebr. She also leaves four brothers and three sisters and fourteen grandchildren and many friends.
She was baptized and united with the Christian church at Loomis, Nov. 20, 1893. When they moved to Elwood she transferred her membership to the Christian church of Elwood.
Then when they came to Farnam, she united with the Baptist church, where she has remained a faithful member until her death, April 14 at the age of 63, 10 months and 10 days.
The neighbors and friends extend their heartfelt sympathy to the family.
Funeral services were held here Wednesday afternoon at one-thirty o'clock conducted by Rev. C.R. Tanner of the Methodist church.
Burial was made in the Elwood cemetery.
