Elbert Jack
Elbert Arthur Jack, the oldest son of John W. and Adele Jack was born Aug. 26, 1889 near Eustis, Nebraska.
He attended the Eustis schools and grew to manhood in this community.
His occupation was farming and livestock raising.
He was a veteran of the first world war in 1918.
He was a good christian man, his outstanding characteristics being kindness, unselfishness and tolerance.
He leaves to mourn his passing two brothers, Chester and Cecil and two sisters, Mrs. Amy Cagle and Elizabeth Jack, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father in 1934 and hsi mother in 1941.
Funeral services were conducted from the Evangelical United Brethren Church on Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. F. C. Ebinger officiating. Burial in the Eustis cemetery.
Those singing were Fred Hueftle, Dean Hueftle, E. S. Schroeder, Otto Hueftle, Fred Timm, and Max Hueftle. Mrs. E. C. Schroeder, accompanist. Songs: “We are Going Down the Valley,” adn “The Beautiful Land.”
Pallbearers were Jim Timmons, L. W. Gauger, George Overbaugh, Dale Wagner, Otto Oldenburg and Walter Koch.
