Pat Baker, 80, passed away on August 16, 2026 at at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, NE.

Pat Baker was born August 5th in 1946, as Patricia Louise Warnock in Eustis, NE to Vernon and Ruth Warnock. She and her two sister, Kay and Geany, grew up on the farm near Orafino. She attended much of her schooling in Orafino, but ended her high school years in Farnam, NE. That’s where she met a young man named Jim Baker. They were married November 22, 1964. Shortly afterward Jim joined the Army, then she followed him to Germany. While there, they visited quite a few countries in Europe and had many adventures. After his time in the Army they settled in Cozad, Ne where they worked at Monroe’s. A few years later, moved to Farnam where they owned Jim’s Inn. After a time they moved to the Baker family farm, outside of Farnam, where she started her life as a farmers wife. Then in 1975 she had a dream come true when they were able to adopt a daughter, LeAnne. However, her family was not completed until they adopted a son, Bryan in 1979. Shortly after she suffered a stroke, which prompted their move into town. Through hard work and determination she later became a dietary aide at the Nursing Home in Curtis, Ne. Where she worked for 13 Years. After her retirement, she and Jim were living a quiet life on the farm, until a tragic fire took their home. She then resided back in town when another tragedy happened. She went into the hospital after a fall, where she had many medical events occur over several months ending in a leg amputation. Over the next few years she had more medical concerns. Though, through it all she always had a smile and a kind word to say to all. In her later years she truly loved being a grandmother and was looking forward to being a great–grandmother. All her struggles ended in Kearney Reginal a few days after her 80th birthday. However, just the day before still had that wonderful smile on her face saying her famous “I’m doing alright”.

She was a very active member in the town of Farnam for most of her adult life. She was always willing to give a helping hand to any event or activity. She managed and cleaned the towns community room at the fire hall for many years. She was a a very active member of the Farnam Methodist Church and the Auxiliary, as well as helped with the blood drive and Polio carnival over the years.

Was proceeded in death by her parents; Vernon and Ruth Warnock, Mother and Father–in–law Lawrence and Marie Baker, her daughter–in–law Tara. Survived by her husband Jim Baker, her sisters Geany and Kay, her children Bryan, LeAnne and honorary daughter Colleen. Also, her beloved grand children Falechia, Samantha, Zach, Wyatt, Isiah, Morgan, and Dakota. As well as, her cherished great–granddaughter Amelia, and the two that are to arrive soon.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 21, 2026, 2:00 PM at Farnam Methodist Church in Farnam, NE, with Rev. Elmo Hermann officiating.

Burial will follow at Farnam Cemetery in Farnam, NE.
