Mrs. Wanda Nelson
Services for Mrs. Wanda Nelson, 70, widow of Ernest Nelson, McCook, were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Herrmann Funeral Home. Interment was in Memorial Park cemetery. Dr. Paul Porter, Aurora, Neb., had charge of the rites.
Mrs. Nelson died Aug. 31 in Pleasanton, Neb., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Cool.
Born in Clay Pool, Ind., Mrs. Nelson’s parents came to southwest Nebraska when she was a baby. Her childhood home was in Frontier county north of Cambridge. After the death of her first husband, Doyle Ramsey, she was married in 1929 to the late Ernest Nelson.
Besides her daughter in Pleasanton, she is survived by two sons, Cecil Ramsey of Laverenz, Iowa, and Morris Ramsey of Arcata, Calif.; and a daughter, Gladys Carstad of Sioux City, Iowa; 13 grand children and six great-grand children; a stepson, Clair Nelson of McCook; two step-daughters, Mrs. Opal Eldred of Lincoln and Gwendolyn Keil of McCook; two brothers, Roy Brown of Eustis and Ted Brown of Atlanta; and three sisters, Mrs. Cora Sheffield of Farnam, Mrs. Opal Sheffield of Brady, and Mrs. Mae Hayes of Cambridge.
