Edward James Hastings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hastings was born at Wallace, Lincoln county, Nebr. Sept. 28, 1915 and died at Elsie, Nebr. February 24, 1924, age 8 years, 4 months and 26 days.

We loved him yes not tonge can tell
How we loved him and how well
God loved him too, and he thought it best,
To take him home to be at rest.

Safe in the arms of Jesus
Safe on his gentle breast
There by his love o’er shadowed
Sweetly thy soul shall rest.

Up in the home of the angels
Where are only the sinless
He lives in sinless beauty
And with the child it is well.

Mr. and Mrs. Hastings will be remembered by their Farnam friends, as they both grew up in this neighborhood, moving away about 8 or 9 years ago.
