A Long Life
Rev. Joseph Wood died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Taylor, south of Moorefield Thursday evening about seven o’clock, after an illness of some time.
He was the father of Charles W. Woods, living northeast of town, and Lewis Woods, northwest of town, and of Mrs. Thomas Taylor.
He was born in Montgomery county, Indiana, August 15, 1831. He was a member of the Baptist church for over forty years and was a minister of the gospel for over thirty years. At one time he was a member of the legislature from Davis county, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at the Taylor residence last Saturday morning at 10 o’clock, and interment in Stockville cemetery, services being conducted by Rev. W. C. Palmer and Rev. G. S. Stinnette.
The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of their many friends.
