Janet Linville
Janet Eileen Knapp/Groves/Linville, of Orchard, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the age of 75.
Janet was born to parents Wesley and Geraldine (Thomas) Knapp on April 11, 1942 in Shelby, Nebraska. She attended school in Nebraska through the 8th grade, after which she attended Weldon Valley High School in Colorado, and graduated in 1959. In November of 1959, she married Theodore Raymond Groves. They lived and worked in Morgan County.
Later she moved back to Nebraska and worked for Country Blues Restaurant in Farnam for several years before moving back to Orchard, Colorado. She would make quilts and crochet baby blankets and clothes for grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Gardening and baking were also a passion, as well as reading.
Janet and T.R. had four children: daughter, Brenda (Russell) Speaker of Briggsdale, Bill Groves of Orchard, Scott (Brenda) Groves of Fort Morgan, and Bob Groves of Orchard. She is preceded in death by T.R. Groves, brother, Teddy Eugene, and her parents Wesley Knapp and Geraldine Johnson. Janet had 9 grandchildren, CJ Groves, Kristen Groves, Jerry Speaker, John Speaker, Tim Speaker, Amanda Groves, Erica Groves, Jake Buhring, and Savanah Hastings. She also had 6 great grandchildren, Laramie, Corbin, Blasi Joe, Cameron, Macy Rae and Brody.
Janet is survived by brother, Dale (Wanda) Knapp of Weldona, sister, Kathy (Reynolds) Widick of Nebraska, sister, Janette Evans of California, and brother Wayne (Aileen) Johnson of Nebraska.
There will be a Celebration of Life, October 7, 2017, at 3:00 pm. To be held at the residence of Bill Groves, 35488 CR 2, Orchard, Colorado. Food, tea, water and soda will be provided. If any other beverage is desired, please provide your own. The family is grateful for the condolences, but asks that any donations be sent to Hospice of the Plains Inc., 100 Broadway, Suite 1A, Sterling, Colorado 80751.
