Mrs. Mary Clark,
Long-Time Resident Of
Community, Passes On

Gothenburg Mourns The Loss
Of A Dear Lady, Mother And
Grandmother.

Mrs. Mary Clark, a long-time resident of this section of Nebraska, passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 1952, following a lingering illness. She was in her 86th year.

Mary Gladstone, daughter of Walter and Jane Gladstone, was born in Ayr, Nova Scotia, Canada, November 18, 1866. She moved with her parents to Gentry County, Missouri, at the age of two and a half, where she grew to womanhood.

On June 10, 1891, she was united in marriage with Elwood D. Clark. To this union were born nine children. In 1907 they moved to Nebraska.

Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood, and four children: Walter G., John C., George C., and Mary Alice.

She is survived by her children: James S. and William E., of Gothenburg; David A., of Proctor, Colo.; Jane E. Kerr of Omaha, and Elizabeth C. Reynolds of Elko, Nevada. Also grandchildren: Marguerite Clark Wilson, Laramie, Wyo.; Roger R. Clark, Dale S. Clark, Betty Clark, Van G. Clark, Joan Clark, Dwight W. Clark, Alice Clark, Lexie Clark, Mark E. Clark, Gary K. Clark, of Gothenburg; Larry Clark Reynolds, Stanford, Calif.; Jerry Dale Reynolds, Reno, Nevada; Robert E. Clark in the Navy, stationed at Grenview, Illinois, and G. Douglas in the Navy, stationed in the Mediterranean.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the First Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. A. M. Basten. Music was furnished by Mrs. B. W. Pyle, Mrs. Robert M. Williams, Harold Sholund and Robert Williams, with Mrs. Robert Lamb as organist. Pallbearers were Rich Janssen, Roscoe Norsworthy, Paul Kniss, Glenn Hyde, Ned Ward and Boyd Brooks. Interment was in the Peckham cemetery, with Olesen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
