Mrs. Joanna Scott, 59, passed away of heart disease at the family home 1007 Lake street Sunday evening. She had not been ill and her death was very sudden and a shock to her many friends in this valley. She has been a resident of La Grande for the past seven years and had lived near Elgin since 1906. She is survived by her husband George E. Scott; by three sons, Edward, Paul and Daniel, all of La Grande; a daughter, Mrs. Ester Turner, of Hillsboro, Ore. and by two grandchildren. The body rests at Walkers Funeral Home and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
