Mrs. O. E. Thompson Called by Reaper Saturday Afternoon
Laid to Rest in I.O.O.F. Cemetery
Monday Following Services at
Methodist Church Here.
Death came Saturday afternoon to Mrs. Lavina Thompson, wife of O. E. Thompson, for several years a resident of this place. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church Monday afternoon by her pastor Dr. J. D. Gillilian, with interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson was a sufferer from a lung affection and recently contracted pneumonia. The last week of life was painful to a great degree, but she bore it with exemplary patience and her last few hours were rendered easier by her physician.
Previous to her marriage in Nebraska in 1888 she was Lavina McPheeters, and was born in Indiana in November 10, 1858, dying May 17, 1924, at the age of 65 years, six months and seven days.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Miss Lola, a constant presence at her bedside; Frank, a student at the Utah Agricultural college at Logan, who hurried home to be with the family at the end, and Harry, of Flagstaff, Arizona who was unable to be here.
In early life Mrs. Thompson became a Christian and lived a consistent, Godly life to the end of her earthly journey.
