Moorefield Pioneer Passes Away

Penelope Jane Guin was born at Bell Plaine, Iowa, September 19, 1858 and died November 27, 1929 at her home near Moorefield, Nebraska at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 8 days.

She was united in marriage to A. F. Schultz March 4, 1889. To this union was born six sons: Melvin, Homer and Alton who reside at Moorefield, Guin of Butte, Montana, Otto of Ingham, Nebr. and Emil of Curtis, Nebraska.

Besides the husband there is left to mourn, one sister, Mrs. J. L. Boots of Albion, Nebr. and two brothers: Melvin Guin of Los Angeles, California and Henry Guin of Welston, Oklahoma, also eleven grandchildren and a host of friends. Mrs. Schultz united with the Church of God in 1893 and remained a devoted member until her death.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. Adams of Omaha at the Moorefield Union church, November 29 and the remains were laid to rest in the Moorefield cemetery south of town.

Mrs. Schultz’s six sons paid their mother their final tribute by acting as her pall bearers. The entire community extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
