Minnie Carey Putnam
BLACKFOOT, IDA.—Mrs. Minnie Carey Putnam, 67, Blackfoot, died Monday in her home after a lingering illness. She had been bedfast the past month.
She was born Sept. 13, 1885, in Waterloo, Ia., a daughter of Calvin L. and Sarah Ann Haden Carey. She was married to Frank A. Putnam in June, 1901, in North Platte, Neb. The couple farmed until 1937, near Gothenburg, Neb., and then moved to Blackfoot where Mr. Putnam died June 6, 1946.
Mrs. Putnam was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints and active in the First Ward Relief Society until her health failed.
Survivors include six sons and daughters, William Putnam, Salem, Ore.; Cpl. Melvin Putnam, Camp Irwin, Cal.; Milo Putnam, Nehalem, Ore.; Mrs. William Zimmerman, Palisades; Pvt. Ruby M. Carlin, Fort Belevoir, Va., and Mrs. Harold Moses, Springfield, Ore.; a brother and sister, Dave Carey and Mrs. Avis Earll, Salem, Ore.; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the First LDS Ward chapel by Alan M. Canno, bishop. Burial will be in Grove City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Howard Packham Mortuary Chapel until time of services.
