Maggie Charlotte Hastings, daughter of William and Maggie Adkisson, was born August 6, 1885 at Eustis, Nebr., and departed her life July 13, 1961 at the Sutherland hospital, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and seven days.

She spent most of her early life around the Eustis and Farnam communities.

On September 21, 1902 she was united in marriage to Thomas J. Hastings, and they made their home on a homestead south of Farnam. In 1915 they moved to a farm southeast of Elsie.

The survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Grace Lakey, Roscoe and Mrs. Amy Castle, Imperial; five sons, William, John, Ralph and Marven of Elsie, and Robert of Hayes Center; twenty-one grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Meery, Gothenburg and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom in 1949, and one son, Edward in 1924.

She was a kind and loving Mother, always ready to help in time of need and sickness, and will be greatly missed by all.

A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
