Cecelia Urmson
Miss Cecelia Phillips was born in Wales, July 28, 1835; came to America with her parents in 1842. She was married to James Urmson in the state of Pennsylvania, July 21, 1853. Afer a few years of residence there they moved to Illinois and resided until 1879, when they came to Sutton, Nebr., and lived until 1884, at which time they came to this vicinity and homesteaded. Here they resided until 1906, when on account of age and ill health they sold out and went to live with their children at Crete and later to Norman, Oklahoma. They were the parents of eleven children, seven of whom are still living. Besides the children she leaves thrity-one grand children, one brother in Iowa and a sister, Mrs. Saxon, here in Moorefield. In early life she united with the Presbyterian church and remained faithful unto death. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sloniger, in Oklahoma, Saturday, July 8, 1911, and was brought here for burial in their family lot in the Moorefield cemetery beside her little daughter and her husband who died January 14, 1911.
