Mrs. Anna Rosendahl
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Rosendahl, deceased wife of George Rosendahl, were held last Friday afternoon at the Olesen Mortuary, with Rev. E. Duerschner, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran church officiating. Pallbearers were: L. A. Chaplin, Floyd Mosley, Wm. Heidebrink, Lee Larson, Henry Jobman and John Heidebrink. Interment was in Gothenburg cemetery.
Mrs. Anna Rosendahl, daughter of John Juilfs and his wife, Sophia, was born May 8, 1869, at Peoria, Illinois, and passed away at Gothenburg, Neb., on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1945, at the age of 75 years, nine months and six days.
She moved with her parents from Illinois to Gothenburg in the spring of 1883. She lived in the Gothenburg and Farnam communities ever since, and was thus truly one of the pioneers of this part of the state.
In infancy she was received as a member of the Kingdom of God in Holy Baptism. Her god-fearing parents gave her the benefit of instruction in the word of God in her youth and she made her confirmation vows at the Christ Lutheran church in 1886.
She was married to George Rosendahl, on March 1, 1891, and it was their privilege to share the joys and sorrows of this life for almost 54 years. Their home was blessed by the birth of four children, all of whom survive their mother.
Although Mrs. Rosendahl had been ailing for about 30 years, her last illness was of short duration. She was bedfast for about a week.
Thus the earthly pilgrimage of another of the pioneers has come to an end. Her influence as a wife, mother and grandmother, however, will continue. Her passing will be keenly felt by those who loved her.
Her death is mourned by her aging husband, and by the following children: Mrs. Dena Duis and family, John Rosendahl, Folly Rosendahl and family, and Miss Anna Rosendahl; by four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; one brother: Adolph Juilfs of Farnam, and many other relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
