SHIPTON—At his residence in Cozad, Sunday afternoon, August 13, 1899, of heart disease.

William Shipton was born at Merther Tydvil, Wales, April 3, 1847, one was the son of James and Susie Shipton. He came to America in 1897, married Ann Dale January 21, 1875, at Braidwood, Ills. He came to Dawson county, Nebraska, in April, 1888. A wife and six children survive him, also a brother at Pittsfield, Mass., and a sister at Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. The funeral was held from the M. E. church Tuesday. Interment at White Rabbit cemetery. Deceased had long been in poor health and for several weeks had been confined to his room where friends attended his needs.
