Former Resident of Farnam
Below is a clipping taken from the Fairfield Auxiliary regarding the death of Cora May Holdeman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Holdeman who were homesteaders on the land now occupied by Frank Waits:
Cora May Holdeman, daughter of J. H. and Virginia Holdeman, was born near Farnam, Nebraska, July 26, 1893, coming with her parents to Fairfield, in August 1902 which place has been her home since that time.
She was a graduate of the Fairfield High School, in the class of 1912, later taking a special course at Peru Normal to better fit her for her chosen profession. She taught in the schools at Western for two years, being re-elected for the third year, but resigned to accept a position at Glenvil, where she has taught for three years, being re-elected for the fourth term. Her career as a teacher has been a very successful one.
She was a young woman of marvelous beauty of character; faithful as a friend, a dutiful, affectionate daughter and sister, loved and trusted by her host of friends.
