Paul Callahan
Paul “Bud” Leland Callahan, 82, of Farnam, died Oct. 31, 2011, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
He was born on Feb. 23, 1929, south of Brule, son of Fred and Molly (Connelly) Callahan.
Bud grew up in Lincoln County and attended school at Jeffery Queen.
He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He married Nona Harlene Craig on Jan. 23, 1953, at Brady. To this union six children were born, Steve, Cathlene, Cindy, Patty, Kelli and Maureen.
Bud was a farmer and rancher out in the South Hills. He enjoyed working in his garden and raising flowers.
Survivors include four daughters, Cathlene Callahan, Cindy Callahan, Patty Callahan, Maureen Callahan, all of Brady; six granddaughters, Jacinta Meyer, Molly Miller, Caitlyn Castleberry, Holly Hansen, Lacey McGhee, Kesha Viter; two grandsons, Levi Nelson, Casey Miller; six great–grandsons, Joseph Anderson, Cameron Meyer, Tremaine and Tristen McGhee, Hayden Anderson and Kellin Nelson; many nieces, nephews; and extended family and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Nona Harlene Callahan, in 2003; son, Steve Callahan; daughter, Kelli; brothers, Bill, Pat, Fritz, Bert Callahan; sisters, Lilly Reutzel, Amy Lind, Irene Lind, Mary Thibodeaux; and his parents.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Blase–Strauser Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.
Burial will follow at the Gaslin Cemetery at Brady. Visitation will be at Blase Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, from 1–8 p.m. today.
Blase–Strauser Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
