Sharon Ann McMichael, 70, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died peacefully August 11, 2011, at her home in Gothenburg, with her family close by, following a brief battle with cancer. Sharon was born August 19, 1940 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Andy Jackson and Amanda Marie Hite.

Sharon grew up in Gothenburg and attended schools there. She married Meryl McMichael on May 15, 1957 at the home of Rev. Hart in Eustis, NE. Three children were born to this family; Kenneth Eugene, Kevin Lee, and Lynnette Kay. The family lived in Farnam from 1957 to 1961; Kennedy from 1961-1962; Maxwell from 1962-1968 and settled back in Gothenburg in 1969. Sharon enjoyed sewing, flowers and gardening, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She liked classic and old time country music, cake decorating and collecting.

Surviving are husband, Meryl “Mick” McMichael of Gothenburg, NE; son, Kenneth (Tammy) McMichael of Gothenburg, NE; son, Kevin McMichael of Holdrege, NE; daughter, Lynnette McMichael of Kearney, NE; sister, Gladys Hudson of Gothenburg, NE; 9 grandchildren - Emily McMichael, Amanda McMichael, Blayr McMichael, Kevin Meryl McMichael, Teran Andrew McMichael, Christopher Kobza, Alex Parker, Gavin McMichael (KC Stear), Alexander Maiwaldt; her mother-in-law Ora McMichael of Farnam, NE; sister-in-law Janet Steuerwald of Farnam, NE and a host of relatives and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Jasper, Dale, George, and Stan Hite and sister, Rose Ramsey.

Burial was in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, NE.
