Samuel J. Parker, 48, of Grand Island died Thursday in a Grand Island hospital. He was born July 5, 1934 in Farnam. He graduated from Farnam High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He had worked in Texas and California before moving to Grand Island.

Survivors include his mother, Sara Parker of Gothenburg; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Georgeann) Young of North Platte and Beryle Stovall of Kearney; and several nieces and nephews.

His remains were cremated. Graveside services will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at a later date.

Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
