Oswald W. ‘Ozzie’ Wagner

MADRAS — A funeral for Oswald W. “Ozzie” Wagner will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 20 in the chapel of Tabor’s Desert Hills Mortuary. The service will be conducted under the auspices of the Bend Masonic Lodge No. 139. Mr. Wagner, a resident of Madras for the past four years and a former resident of LaPine and Portland, died Feb. 15 at Mountain View Hospital. He was 82.

He was born in Towner, Colo., on March 3, 1909, to Casper and Brita (Stromberg) Wagner. He served as a captain in the Army during World War II. Until his retirement he had been an owner-operator of apartment houses.

Mr. Wagner was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge No. 352 of Tribune, Kan., a member of the El Malaikah Shriners Temple of Los Angeles and the Consistory of Wichita, Kan.

He married Ruth Stevens in Banning, Calif., on Nov. 17, 1956. Mrs. Wagner survives at the family home in Madras. Additional survivors include one son, Daniel J. Wagner of Newburgh, N.Y., one daughter, Beverly Jean Davis of Madras, one stepdaughter, Connie K. Bischke of San Diego, one stepson, Kenneth D. Weed of Covina, Calif., three grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital in Portland.

Tabor’s Desert Hills Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
