Obituary
Ann Atkinson was born in Yorkshire, England, Apr. 19 1836, passed away at her home, June 13, 1916, 2:35 p.m., age 80 years, 1 month and 24 days.
The deceased came to America and the state of Ohio, at 6 years of age; removed to Green Co. Wis. at ten years of age.
She was married, Oct. 15, 1856 to J. S. Peckham, and the same year they moved to Crawford county, Wisconsin, where they lived until 1879 when they came to Nebraska. In 1880 they settled on a homestead in Lincoln county, where they have remained until the present time.
To Mr. and Mrs. Peckham six children were born, two of whom, Walter and Jenny, died in infancey, and the son, Oscar, died at the age of sixteen. The three remaining children are C. F. of Gothenburg, Herman of Brady, and Elmar of Haigh, Neb. These together with the aged husband, a brother at Kamiah, Idaho, and seven grand children remain to remember with respect and affection, the one who had been allowed so long to grace the home.
The funeral services were held last Thursday at the Banner M. E. church, Gothenburg; the sermon being preached by Rev. Atack of the Gothenburg charge.
A large concourse of people attended the last rites.
Interment was made in Peckham cemetery.
